LAY-OUT OF ROTORUA.
SIR J. SULMAN'S PRAISE. [nv TELEGRAPH- —OWN CORRESPONDENT, ] ROTORUA. Wednesday. Tito excellent way in which the town of Rotorua was laid out was remarked upon to day by Sir John Sulman, who is spending a few days in the district. He said the system now adopted by the Borough Council was similar to that at Canberra, trees and shrubs and a hedge being planted along the footpaths. The town possessed a splendid asset in the land held by the council fronting Lake Potorua. It could be made into a beautiful and attractive recreation resort. In speaking of the desirability of open spaces for towns and cities Sir John's advice was, get the land, even if it was necessary to go into debt.
