ANGLICAN SYNOD.
THE OPENING SERVICES. The opening services of the twentyfifth Diocesan Synod were hold in St. Mary's Cathedral ycsterdiiy, Holy Communion was eelobjated in tho morning, and the services were continued throughout the day, addresses being given by Canon Fancourt, of Palmerston North. Archbishop Averill delivered a portion of his charge to synod after festal even-' song. He will complete his charge this morning and will also unveil tho Bishop Neligan memorial window in the Cathedral. The business of synod will be commenced this aftornoon.
