DOMINION TOTAL FOR WEEK. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] WELLINGTON. Monday. For the week ended at noon to-day 47 cases of infectious diseases wero reported to tho Wellington health authorities, this being an increase of 10 compared with tho returns for tho provious seven days. In .Wellington Central there was a slight increase of both scarlet fever and diphtheria. The most noticeablo feature of tho Auckland district notifications is the increase in diphtheria cases. In Canterbury tho scarlet fever notifications wero in excess of those for the previous week. The total Dominion returns showed an increase of 36 on last week's bulletin, there boirig 155 notifications against 119. Sixteen people died from tho effects of infectious diseases last week.
