The Kaituna was expected to leave Gis : borne yesterday morning for Tauranga and Auckland. The Government steamer Tutanekai was reported to have left Gisborno for northern lighthouses yesterday morning. The Northern Company advises that the Otimai is to sail at four o'clock .this afternoon for Kutarere and Opotiki and the Motu at the same time for Mercury Bay and Whakatane. HORORATA WITH IMMIGRANTS. With 599 immigrants from England, the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Hororata arrived at Auckland early yesterday morning. She has cargo for discharge here, and is expected to sail for Wellington on Saturday to complete discharge. Although her passage was mainly uneventful, the Hororata encountered some bad weather during iter trip. She left London on August SI and Southampton the following day, and for the first two days out was in a heavy fog, running at re duced speed most of the time. The trip across the Atlantic was done in good tinio but nearing the West .Indies the vessel ran into the tail end of the disastrous Hurricane that was responsible for the dam.vo along the Florida coast. This forced her to heave-to for the beat part of 21 houis. The Hororata stopped. at Colon and tho passengers had sorao time or) shore. She then came straight through the canal r.na across the' Pacific, her only other stop boinj at Pitcairii Island. Just outside Cuvier she encountered it strong northeasterly gale, but the weather cleared suffi eienlly to enable tier to mako a good tun into port. Captain E. HUNTINGDON'S DEPARTURE DELAYED. Tho departuro of the Federal steamor Huntingdon for Wellington, originally scheduled for yesterday afternoon, has had to ba postponed until this morning. WAINUI FOR GISBORNE. ■Resuming running after undergoing overhaul, the Union Company's steamer Wainui is to leave for Tokomaru Bay, Gisborno and Napier at five o'clock this evening. WINGATUI SAILS TO-MORROW. In continuation of her voyage from Melbourne, the Union Company's steamer Wingatui is scheduled to sail for Wellington. Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, Oamaru and Timaru to-morrow. THE CANAJDLVN CRUISER. Tho Canadian Government steamer Canadian Cruiser, which left Auckland for Montreal on August 28, after loading at Dunedin, Lyttelton and Wellington, arrived at Queoeo yesterday. MAHENO DUE TO-DAY. With pnssengors, mails and cargo from Sydney the Union Company's steamer Ma. heno is due at Auckland at two o'clock this afternoon and will berth at Central Wharf. The vessel is scheduled to commence tho return trip to Sydney at 11 o'clock on Friday morning. THE RUAHINE'S PASSAGE. The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has received advice that its liner Ruahine sailed from Curacao on Thursday, en route for New Zealand. She ; is duo at Wellington toward the end of this month. NIAGARA ARRIVED. The Royal Mail steamer Niagara, after a good trip across tho Pacific, reached Auckland from Vancouver yesterday morning, berthing at Prince's Wharf. After cargo is unloaded and passengers for Sydney embarked the vessel is expected to leave at ten o'clock this evening. TAHITI AT WELLINGTON. Tho local office of tho Union Company has received, advice that tho Royal Mail steamer Tahiti arrived at Wellington yesterday morning, from Sydney. Sho is scheduled to sail for San Francisco, via Papeete, at three o'clock this afternoon. MAKURA FROM SAN FRANCISCO. Tho Royal Mail liner Makura, which left San Francisco last Wednesday for Wellington and Sydney, and which is duo at Wellington on October 25, has a small amount of cargo for Auckland. This is to be transhipped at Wellington. RICHARDSON STEAMERS. The .Richardson steamer Koutunui, which arrived from Gisborne on Sunday, sailed for the East Coast last evening. The Mako arrived last evening and is to sail again at four o'clock to-monow afternoon. The Awahou ia to sail for Gisborno and East Coast bays at six o'clock this evening. WEST CARMONA FOR AUCKLAND. The American steamer West Carmona, with general cargo from Pacific Coast American ports, loft San Francisco for Auckland yesterday. After discharge at Auckland she will go to Wellington, and subsequently to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Hongkong and the Philippines. KAIWARRA AGAIN DELAYED. Bad weather has again delayed the departure of tho Union Company's steamer Kaiwarra from. New Plymouth for Auckland. She was originally fixed to sail on Friday morning, but rain delayed cargo work and she left at a quarter to five yesterday afternoon. Sho na3 cargo for Adelaide, and after discharge at Auckland will go to Wellington and Wanganui. TAMAROA DUE AT WELLINGTON. Advice has been received by the local agents, L. D. Nathan and Company, that the Shaw, Savill and Albion line's steamer Tamaroa is due at Wellington from London on Saturday. After discharge there she is to go to Lyttelton and Dunedin. This is her first voyage in her reconstructed form. She was originally the Sophocles but since being taken over by the Shaw, Savill Company. as well as having her name changed, she lias been refitted with special attention to immigration requirements. Sho ha 3 also been converted into an oil-burner. NGAKUTA FROM ISLANDS. With a cargo of fruit from Eastern Pacific islands for discharge at Auckland and Wellington, tho Union Company's island trader Ngakuta arrived at Auckland early yesterday morning. She left Rarotonga for Auckland on October 3 and the trip was uneventful, the weather being good practically all the way. As the island fruit season has now ended, tho Ngakuta will withdraw from the Rarotonga run for some time.
