WON BY TRAINING COLLEGE. .A Me of exceptional interest in hockey circles was provided by tho meeting of training College (holders) and Auckland Grammar School (challengers) in the final ?",. e 'f! r Challenge Cup. on Saturday, iraining College won the trophy last season and was successful :n this season's games in reaching the final. Auckland Grammar school, after winning tho third grade championship. reached (he final, and Saturday's game was to decide tho fate of tho cup. Auckland Grammar put up a Kreat fight, only losing by the odd goal in three. 'lhe game was extremely fast and full of spectacular incidents, while the standard of play, considering the adverse weather conditions, was excellent. Training College made the most of its opportunities, whereas Grammar, although holding n territorial advantage, often failed to drive homo its advantage. Some splendid concerted attacking movements were shown by ihe respective forward lines, the work of the Grammar boys beiii{; more impressive. It was only in defensive play in ihe backs that Training College held an advantage, and its work In this respect was a feature of tho game.
