FRACAS IN DUNEDIN.

CASE OF SHERRY STOLEN. MAN PUSHED THROUGH WINDOW. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] DUNEDIN. Monday. A sequel to a fracas on Friday night was tho appearance in the Police Court this morning of Ivon Murdoch, charged with breaking two panes of plate glass, stealing a caso of sherry from the Carlton Hotel and assaulting Thomas Morrison. It was stated that accused was prohibited," but on tho night in question he was drunk. He assaulted Morrison and knocked him through a shop window. When the police arrived ho jumped into a car and tried to get away, but the police followed in a motor-car and arrested him, but not before his behaviour had necessitated his ejection from tho tram. On tho charge of stealing sherry accused was sentenced to ono month's imprisonment. 110 was ordered to pay for the damage to the window, in default 14 days' imprisonment. For assault tio was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within 12 months.
