A deficiency of £262 was shown in the bankrupt estate of Crastis William Leader, motor mechanic, Hamilton, a meeting of whoso creditors was held today. There wore no assets. Bankrupt attributed his failure to taking up a returned soldier's bush section at Owhanga with insufficient capital to develop it. Bankrupt gave evidence that in 1916 he. took up a bush section and cleared 125 acres. Ho carried on for two years. He then leased tho section while ho acted as a motor-driver in Wellington and Mnrton and as motor mechanic at Wanganui. When the lease of tho farm expired he resumed possession, but his subsequent operations were not successful. lie raised several sums on mortgages but even with this assistance he could not clear his liabilities. There was no quorum present and no resolution was passed.
