King, of Hokianga, are at the Star Hotel. Captain and Mrs. T.'Mitchell, of Cambridge, Mr. and Mrs. M. Gillies, of WeLllington, and Mr. and- Mrs. H- Cockroft, of Taihape, are at the Royal Hotel. Kemp, minister in charge of the Baptist Tabernacle, returned to Auckland by the Niagara yesterday after a seven months' holiday trip to Great Britain and America. He was accompanied by Mrs. Kemp. Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Richardson, of Queensland, Mr. and Mrs. J. O'Riordan, of Sydney, Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Hannah, of Napier, and Mr. and Mrs. F, B. Clark, of Christchurch, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. Lionel Nicol, Queensland manager of Messrs. Potter and Birks, Ltd., is a passenger by the Niagara. Mr. Nicol has been on a'visit to Philadelphia, New York and other cities in the Eastern States of America. Mr. Laurie Richardson, son of Mr. H. H. Richardson, inspector of schools, Auckland, who is a student at London University, has, won the British Empire Exhibition Scholarship, and has also gained the degree of Ph.D. in chemistry.
