THE NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. TOUR OF AUSTRALIAN LADIES. The council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association met in .Christchurch on Thursday, Mr. VV. E. L>. Bishop, pre--8 The' Australian Union wrote stating that. Misses Claire Couldwoll and Ettie Robertson would bo available to visit New Zealand in the coming season if invited. It, was resolved that the invitation be issued, and details were referred to the tours committee. . The president reierred to the tact that the wiping of the Nelson Centre off the books meant that its delegate. Mr. J. R. Buchanan, had ceased to be' a member of the council. On his motion it was resolved that tho council should place on record its appreciation of Mr. Buchanan b long and useful service as a member of the council. . The Auckland centre wrote giving Hie names of swimmers whom il considered were of Olympic standard or likely to attain that standard by 102 S. ft was resolved that, the names be forwarded lo Iho Olympic Council. , The secretary reported he was unable to obtain replies' to correspondence sent to the Canterbury centre, arid information asked for had not been given. It was resolved that, the secretary should write to tlie centre's delegate on the matter. Mr. A. M. Davies wrote agreeing to the conditions suggested for tho competition for the shield which lie had presented to the association for competition among tho schools of the Dominion. T*e secretary reported the handbook was now being printed. It, was resolved that, the question of the precise number of copies (o be printed he referred to the treasurer with leave to vary the number already agreed to by the council if necessary.
