PITT STREET CHURCH.
THE DIAMOND JUBILEE. CONCLUSION OF SERVICES. Tho diamond jubilee celebrations in connection with the Pitt STreet Methodist Church were brought to a successful conclusion yesterday. The celebrations have been marked by keen interest and enthusiasm on the part of tho congregation and Auckland Methodists generally and the services have been among tho most encouraging ever held in the church. Tho services, both morning and evening, were very well attended. The Rev. W. Ready was tho preacher in the morning and the Rev. Leonard B. Dalby in the evening. The latter sermon was entitled "After Sixty Years: Then Onward," and the minister spoke from the text, "Ask now of the days that are past," He appealed to history for the truth that religion preserves ' nations, cities and individuals, and said that if that were true it was the right thing to havo more faith and continue to be faithful. The greatost of tho Anglo-Saxons, Lord Roseberry had once declared, were tho men of the Commonwealth period of English history. Their' distinction was that they feared God, read God's Word and kept God's day. Solos and anthems were sung and the service concluded with the congregation singing the "Hallelujah" chorus with great enthusiasm.
