INSPECTION OF CATTLE.
MORRINSVILLE REQUEST. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] MORRINSVILLE. Friday. The secretary of tho Morrinsvillo Cooperative Dairy Company, Mr. J. F. Faulkner, has sent tho,following letter to the Director of tho Department:—" My board has for some lime recognised tho necessity of having a stock inspector present at the sales in Morrinsvillo, in order that any doubtful beasts may bo classified accordingly. With this end in view the board has asked nie to endeavour to securo your co-operation in having an officer of your department present, at our main fortnightly sale, and thus eliminate the risk of the salo and purchase of diseased cattle, and also to meet the need of advice in this respect for farmers with cows in tho doubtful class.
