MANGAWEKA TOWN BOARD.
if INTEREST IN ELECTION. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] TAIHAPE. Thursday. Considerable interest was taken in the election of members of tho Mangaweka Town Board and the polling was very satisfactory, 107 electors exercising their -vote. Sovcn nominations were received for tho five seats. Tho following were elected :—Frederick J. Noble, 107; Arthur Millner, 104; Gcorgo G. Toms, 94; Joshua Slade, 88; Roderick J. Dickson, 77. The unsuccessful candidates wore: Donald M. Watkins, 46: John Dawkins, 22. Mr. Noble, who topped tho poll, received unanimous support from thoso who voted. A somewhat surprising feature was tho defeat of Mr. Dawkins, who was formorly chairman of the board.
