TIFF BETWEEN JUDGES.

ONE LEAVES THE BENCH. MELBOURNE COURT EPISODE. A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE. Oct. 7. An unusual scene was witnessed in the High Court to-day in the course of tho hearing of an appeal by a Chinese who had sued an Indian. Mr. Justice Higgins asked counsel who was addressing the Court for information regarding tho time required for ripening tomatoes. Mr. Justice Starks objected to his colleague's question. He contended that it was a waste of (he Court's time, and not relevant. After an exchange of words between tho two Judges, Mr. Justice Higgins walked from the Bench. Having consulted the other Judges the Chief Justice then adjourned tho Court until next day.
