CHANGES IN MAGISTRATES.
MR. WIDDOWSOIN RETIRING. [By TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. The senior stipendiary magistrate at Christchurch, Mr. H. Y. Widdowson, has announced bis intention of retiring. He will continue his residence here. Mr. Widdowson was appointed senior stipendiary magistrate at Dunedin in 1905 and was appointed to the position he now' holds in Christchurch in March, 1922. He was born in Christchurch and was educated at Christ's College and later at Canterbury College. Mr. Widdowson was admitted a barrister and solicitor in 1883 and started to practise his profession in Christchurch in 1886. Mr. H. A. Young, who is also stationed at Christchurch, succeeds Mr. Widdowson. Mr. Mosley; of Timaru, will come to Christchurch, and Mr. Orr Walker will, replace him 'at Timaru.
