CARE OF BOOKS.
1. Bookshelves should never be packed no tightly, and the heavier books should be put at the end of a row. 2. A bonk should- not be held too close to a fire, or the boards will curl up. It this should happen, place the book on a flat surface, with one or two envy books on tho top. 3. A book should not be pulled from a shelf bv the binding at the top, nor lifted by its boards, especially if it is a heavy one. 4. Never turn down the leaves of a book to mark a page, nor use a bulky book-niarker. 5; Do not force a book open, nor leave it open face downwards. - 6. Do not cut a new book with a sharp knife, but use a paper knife, and cut well inio the angles. 7. Never turn the pages with a thumb, but uso the middle, or forefinger, and turn them from tho ton.
