VICTORIAN FARMERS.
RURAL BANK SCHEME. A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE. Oct. 6. The Legislative Assembly read a second timo a bill for the creation of a rural bank as a department of the State Savings Bank. The measure proposes to make available a sum of £5,000,000 for advances to farmers. These will be repayable over a term of 35 years. There is provision also for fixed loans, repayable ui five years. In addition the battle will.bo empowered to grant seasonal advances to meet seasonal requirements.
