GOOD LAMBING PERCENTAGES

Beautiful spring weather lias been experienced in the Taihape district for the past fortnight-, with occasional warm rains that have had a very beneficial effect on the grass. The spring is much earlier than usual arid even lambing on the various holdings has almost finished, a most unusual thing for this time of the year. Some very good percentages are reported, as compared with former years. The fishing season lias again opened and promises to be a good one. The Hautapu River is in Rood order and some good catches arc reported by local anglers. The Mataroa Tennis Club was opened on Saturday.
