BRITAIN AND ITALY.
MUSSOLINI LEiVES KOME.
MEETING WITH CHAMBERLAIN
SPECULATION ON CONTINENT.
By Telegrnph—Press Association— Copyright. (Roceived 7.5 pan.) A. nnd N'.Z. LONDON, Sept. 30. The Prime Minister of Italy, Signor Mussolini, left Rome to-day to meet tho British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Sir Austen Chamberlain, at an tin-named rendezvous. Continental newspapers arc indulging in the wildest speculations, bat the diplomatic correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says Sir Austen is without technical advisers, secretaries or papers. It is not realised abroad, says tho correspondent, how impossible it is for tho British Foreign Secretary to deal with any national problems except aftar consultation with the Cabinet,. The meeting with Signor Mussolini is, he says, merely a matter of courtesy. Nevertheless it is most likely that Signor Mussolini will broach certain questions of common interest, such as tho Mediterranean and the position regarding Tangier. 1
