LORD BYNG RETIRES.
DEPARTURE FROM QUEBEC
LOOKING FORWARD TO REST. A. and N.Z. QUEBEC. Sept. 29. Tho retiring Governor-General, Lord Byng, sailed for England to-day. Prior to his departure ho said: "All I want now is just to sit down. I have not sat down for 64 years. I will enjoy my rest." Asked if that portended tho writing of His memoirs Lord Byng said: " Tho trouble is that when soldiers writo thrir memoirs they always abuse someone. For my part thoro is not a sonl in tho world I want to abuse."
