CAR CRASHES INTO POST.
TWO CHILDREN INJURED. MOTOR ALMOST WRECKED* [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN COBUESINJNDENT.i] CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. Tlio occupants of a motor-car, Mrs. M. W. Beaven, of Christchurch, and four children, had a miraculous escape from serious injury when the vehicle, which was driven by Mrs. Beaven, crashed into a post on the Ferry Road. Curiously enough the car, a coach, struck the same post into which a man crashed with fatal results some weeks ago. It was stated by those who live in the vicinity of the mishap that tho car got out of control. There were no other vehicles on the road at the time. Marks in the sand showed that the car must have got.into a channel on the side of the road a few yards before striking the post. There were pieces of broken glass scattered for about 16yds. along the footpath. The coach is almost a complete wreck. The right side was almost torn off and the door was wrenched from the car. The roof also was torn away. A little boy, who was among the passengers, had his collarbone broken, and a girl received cuts on her face from the broken glass. The others, with Mrs. Beaven, escaped unhurt. The injured children were taken to a nearby house and later wore attended by Dr. H. L. Widdowson.
