AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB. SPRING MEETING, The Auckland Trotting Club will hold its spring meeting on Saturday and Wednesday, October 16 and 20, and, with the sum of £7350 allotted in prize-monev to tho 16 events which form the programme, a very strong response nifw bo expected from horseowners in tho call for entries. The two leading events—tho Spring Handicap and tho Alexandra " Handicap—are each worth £IOOO, and in each instance there are four prizes. Tho limit in each race is fixed at 4m 345. Thero aro four races each of the value of £4OO. and no race carries a less stake than £3OO. Nominations close at 5 p.m. to-day with the acting-secretarv. Mr. H. Munro Clark. Tho second forfeit in connection with the Great Northern Derby, to be run at the Auckland Trotting Club's Summer Meeting, also falls duo to-day, at 5 p.m.
