THE DAIRY INDUSTRY.

TE AWAMUTU COMPANY* A SUCCESSFUL SEASON. [llY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AWAMUTU, Friday., At tli annual meeting of suppliers of the To Awamutu Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, Messrs. G. E. Churches and A. H. Parish were unanimously re-elected directors, and Mr. G. O. Jourdain was appointed auditor. The chairman, Mr. C. M. Alexander, stated the number of suppliers was now 104, and they were supplying from about 4000 cows. There were indications that the number would bo appreciably increased very soon. The success achieved in the seven months the factory had been working was indicative of good results in the future. The endeavour was to increase the milk supply to manufacture 500 tons of butter. Experience had shown that that standard was entirely economical and convenient. A herd-test-ing system had been introduced to assist suppliers to improve their herds. The company was entirely co-operative. The manager had scored high points in the butter competitions at winter snows recently, though he had only a limited supply to draw cream from. Much oF this "butter-fat was produced on new country, and, therefore, the older-estab-lished and larger factories had an advantage. He urged every supplier to maintain quality and cleanliness' at the farm and en route to the factory. Every penny available bad been -paid out by wav of advances.
