GERMAN SUBMARINES.
* TREATY TERMS NOT BROKEN. SOME CRAFT FOR HOLLAND. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Aug. 26. The Berlin correspondent of the Morning Post refers to the reports from Paris to the effect that Germany had sold to Russia eight submarines which ought to have been destroyed under the terms of the Treaty of Versailles. He says he learns that all the old submarines possessed by Germany were destroyed under the supervision of the Allied Naval Commission. The correspondent says the treaty does not prevent German firms working either in Germany or in neutral lands from supplying Russia with all the requisite parts of submarines. The diplomatic correspondent of the Evening Standard says the Commission on Disarmament has drawn the attention of the British, French, Italian, Japanese and Belgian Governments to the discovery that Germany has arranged for the construction of submarines for Holland.
