GAY PARASOLS.
Strikingly new ideas appear in this summer's parasols. These lie in the shapes as well as the materials with which they are covered. Gayi.y-patterned silks such as those used in dresses are treated so that they shed the rain and are used for umbrellas ss well as parasols. Some «.re of beautiful silk in pastel colours exquisitely beaded. The moderate " dumpy " is a popular length. There are not many of the longhandled variety to be seen, but those that there are are often of the cane or direetoire type.
