SENSATION AT FIRE.
PEER'S NEPHEW SAVED. Richard, the ten-year-old son of the Hon. Claud Yorke, a brother of the Earl of Hardwieke, had a narrow escape from being burned to death in the night nursery of his father's house in Park Street, Mavfair, recently. He had heen in bed about an hour arid a-half when i gust of wind blew the curtains hanging nt the window against a night fight Thev caught fire immediately, and within a few minutes carpets and clothes in the room were also burning. Smoke - poured into the landing, and Miss White, the governess, who heard the crackle of the flames, rushed into the room. She awakened the boy as she nicked him up in her arms nnd rushed from the room desoite the clouds which enveloned them hoth. The night nurserv is in the front of the house on the fourth floor, and the fire was visible from the street. A large -crowd had gathered by ♦he time the fire brigade arrived, but the firemen put the fire out within' a few minutes.
