CRICKET. * HARBOUR BOARD CLUB. The annual meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board Cricket Club was held on Wednesday evening. It was reported that the club had had a most successful season and a satisfactory credit balance was shown. The following officers were elected Patron, Mr. H. E. Mackenzie; vicepatron, Mr. M. H. Wynyard; president, Mr. D. T. Aitken; vice-presidents, same as last year with addition of Mr. C. F. Garrett;" lion. secretary, Mr. W. Jaquiere; hon. treasurer, Mr. H. C. Bennett; club captain, G. McConnell. Several new members were elected. It decided to enter two teams in the Suburban Association's competitions.

YACHTING. TAKAPUNA BOATING CLUB. COMPLIMENTARY FUNCTION. A complimentary, social to voluntary workers and others who had assisted in erecting and meeting the cost of the Takapuna Boating Club's, three-storey building, was tendered by the club on Thursday evening. The commodore, Mr. O. Moller, presided and there was a large and representative gathering, including the .Mayor of Takapuna, Mr. J. D. Morison, Mr. J. 33. Johnston, chairman of the Auckland Yacht and Motor Boat Association, ;yid the harbourmaster, Captain H. H. Sergeant. The chairman said the object of the gathering was to honour all who had worked so hard during the past three years and who had made it possible to erect the clubhouse and pay every penny of the debt. At the outset they only had £7O in hand and with that money they purchased a building at Panmure and removed it to Bayswater. Since then no less than £7300 had been collected or earned. He thanked all who had assisted the club. Mr. Moller paid a special tribute to the good work done by Messrs. G. B. Warman, L. S. Davis, and H. Melville, and also the members of the ladies' committee. Mr. A. M. Gould said the enthusiasm shown by Mr. Moller and his fallow workers was the cause of their success. The clubhouse was an asset to the district. A lengthy toast list was honoured and a most enjoyable musical programme was provided.

RUGBY FOOTBALL. NEW PLYMOUTH TEAM'S VISIT. A match between the Tukapa Club, New Plymouth, and Marist, leaders in the Auckland Pollard Cup competitions, ■will be the main Rugby attraction at Ed6n Park this afternoon. The best teams available are being fielded and the issue appears to be very open. The Tukapa team, which will arrive this morning, will stay at the Prince Arthur Hotel. Another round of the Pollard Cup competition will be decided at Eden Park and on various suburban grounds. PRIMARY SCHOOLS TOURNEY. THAMES VALLEY WINS FINAL. The final game of the primary schools country week Rugby tournament was played at Eden Park yesterday afternoon, Thames Valley defeating Auckland South by 40 points to 5. • The Thames Valley players gave a first-class display and thoroughly deserved their win, as a result of . which the team will hold the Northern Roller Mills Shield. The Auckland South team played under considerable disadvantage having defeated Whangarei by 9 points to 5 after a,hard game in the morning. A town v. country primary schools representative match will be played as a. curtain-raiser to this aftornoon's game between Tukapa (New Plymouth), and Marist (Auckland). Great interest centres in the Chatham Cup semi-final between Hospital,' Wellington, and North Shore,' Auckland, to be played at Blandford Park this afternoon. Both teams are determined to earn the right to meet the South Island club champion* in the final of the competition, and consequently a stirring game may be anticipated. If North Shore wins it will be the second Auckland club team to contest the final for the cup. Harbour Board having won the trophy in 1924. Last year the cup was won'by Wellington Y.M.C.A., which defeated Seacliff, Otago. BROWN SHIELD CONYEST. FIXTURE AT HAMILTON. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] \ HAMILTON, Friday. South Auckland, will play, its third match in defence of the Brown Shield when it will meet Wanganui at Hamilton to-morrow. Considerable interest exists throughout the Waikato district. Seven Huntly players are included in the South Auckland eleven. ' Added interest is given to the match owing- to Wanganui defeating Manawatu lust Saturday by almost the sanie margin as South Auckland did last month. The South- Auckland team will be at full strength. PRIMARY SCHOOLS TOURNEY. WEBSTER CUP TO AUCKLAND. [by telegraph.—press association.] WELLINGTON. Friday. The Auckland primary schools team defeated Palmcrstou North by 11 goals to 0. Auckland thus wins the Webster Shield. Palmerston North were outclassed, but played a plucky game. The scorers were: McGluskio 4, Taylor 3, Morgan 2, Williamson 2. Mr. Varney, of the New Zealand Football Association, presented the trophy to the winners. * MATCH AT WHANGAREI.
