OPTIMISTIC VAGRANT.
"MONEY FROM TATTERSALL'S" ONE MONTH'S IMPRISONMENT. After being remanded for two days to give him an opportunity to substantiate his statement that he was a wealthy man and had money coming to, him, George Gibbons, aged 52, appeared in the Police Court yesterday on a charge of vagrancy. Chief-Detectivo Cummings said accused asserted ho had £IOOO coming to him from Tattersall's Sweep, but could give no proof. He had l ean before the Court before, and had made the same assertion on the last occasion. The Magistrate, Mr. Poyutori: Got anything to say, Gibbons ? Accused: What I said was correct. The Magistrate: One month.
