FURRED SKIN SALE.

PRICES IN WELLINGTON. [cv TEI/EGE-APFT. —-OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON. Thursday. Tho New Zealand Loan and Meroantilo Atrancy Company report on thoir furred skin sale held at Wellington as follows: There was a larpe attendance of buyers at tbe fifth sale to-day. when large catalogues of rabbitskiriß and opossum skins were offered, Bidding generally, was spirited and prices realised were well on a par with the last Dunedin sales. Winter c.orts advanced 15d to 25d per pound, and hattars' grades 2d to 6d. Fawns realised tho excellent price of MOd per pound and super blacks and doveu 116 d and 120 d respeotivoly. Opossum sklnn were in fair demand and can bo quoted on a par with Dunedin prices. The prospects for the nest rabbitskin and opossunt skin sale to be held on October 7 are quite good;, The following is the range Of prices obtained:—Wellstretched, well got-up skins, runners and suckora, l&id; light racks, Zlid; heavy racks, 34d; summers, 25 id to 2Sjd; dawny autumns, 46d; early autumns. 51id; late autumns, 62Jd; inoomimrs, 75a; early winters. 71 jd to 99d; super bucks, 116 id; super does, 87d; prime winter bucks, llOid to lieid; prime winter does, 84d to 96Jd; first buoks, IOOd to llld; first does, 74d to 60d; winter bucks. 74d : winter does, 55} d; spotted winters, 57d; autumn blacks, 4p|d to 4Sid; early winter blacks, 53d; winter blacks,, 3U|d; super blacks, 116 d; prirog blacks, 103 d; fawns, 140 d; doves. 12d, Hareskins, 30d to 42d. Opossum skins: First blues, 8s 6d to 9s; second blues, 7s 6d; greys, 8s 5d to '10s; blacks, 6a 6d to 8s; redß, 4s 7d to 6s 6d; browns, 4s 6d to 6s Id.
