AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. MINING CONTINUES ACTIVE. There was no afternoon call on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday owing to the annual conference of the New Zealand Affiliated Stock Exchanges. At the morning and mid-day calls there was good general inquiry for all classes of shares, but business was chiefly confined to mining. In Government securities there was no alteration in the buying inquiries, compared with the previous day's oilers. In banks New Zealands improved by 3d, sales taking place at 61s and 61s 3d, with more available at the latter figure, late buyers 60s 9d. National of New Zealand were again sought at £6 16s without response. Union of Australia again had buyers at' £l4 13s, sellers £ls is. In insurance buyers o; New Zealands declined by 3d to 39s 6d, sellers again quoting 40s 6d. South British were unchanged with buyers at 57s 6d, sellers 595. In gas, Aucklands had inquiry at 23's, a drop of Id, sellers firming to 23s 4d. In miscellaneous lines there was fairly good all-round inquiry but no business was transacted. In mining Golden Age, contributing, had sale at sd, lata buyers offering 4d sellers 6d. There were several transactions in Kaxvaraus at prices ranging from 6s 4d to 6s 2d. Lata buyers offered 6s 2d, sellers asking 6s 4d. Waihis sold at 20s 3d and 20s, the latter price being a drop of 3d on the previous day's offers. Lata buyers offered 20s, sellers 20s 3d. Waihi Grand Junctions ware done at 3s Id, a drop of Id, late buyers offering 3s, sellers 3s 2d. The following sales took place:—Bank of New Zealand, 61s, 61s 3d; Golden Ago, contributing, sd; Kawarau, 6s 4cT, 6s 3d, 6s 2d; Waihi, 203 3d, 20s; Waihi Grand Junction 3s Id. CLOSING QUOTATIONS. ..
