ALLEGATIONS OF FRAUD.

HASTINGS MOTOR-CAR DEAL. MAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. [by tfxegraph.—press association.] HASTINGS. Thursday. Lionel Bishop was charged at the Police Court this morning that, on June 6, at Hastings, with intent to defraud, he obtained from Bertram Alexander Hansen a motor-car, valued at £SB, and oil and benzine, valued at £2, by means of a valueless cheque for £6O. He was further charged - that on August 19, at Marton, with intent to defraud, he obtained. £2 19s 6d from Malcolm McConachie by means of a valueless cheque. ■ On the latter charge accused pleaded not guilty and was remanded to appear at Palmerston next Monday. On the first charge he also pleaded not guilty " and was committed for trial at the Supreme Court at Napier, bail being allowed in both cases.
