WAIKATO'S SHOWGROUND.
ERECTION OF A GATEWAY. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] HAMILTON. Thursday. An agreement has been reached between the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association and the Waikato Trotting Club concerning the proposal to erect a permanent gateway on the corner of the association's Claudelands Show Grounds, fronting Grey Street. For some time a dispute had been in progress owing to the Trotting Club being unable to proceed with the plan until it received a definite assufanee of a proper right of tenure. The matter was discussed by representatives of the two bodies, and at to-day's meeting of the Agricultural and Pastoral Society the chairman, Mr. W. Newell, moved that the erection of a permanent entrance be sillaVred, as,agreed upon by the Gfounds Committee of the association, and that, in the event of the association being compelled to dispose of the corner, the club be given first option of acquiring the land at its valuation. The resolution was carried unanimously,
