DANGEROUS HOARDINGS.
Sir,—l have read with interest, in your paper the remarks made by certain members of the Mount Eden Council regarding the hoardings erected at the Mount Eden railway bridge and I fully agree with Mr. Smith and the. traffic inspector, that these hoardings are a positive danger and a menace to trafuc. I would now like to draw the attention of t-h'tse gentlemen to a far greater menace to traffic and a positive eyesore in the midst of Mount Eden. I I'efer to the hoarding round the Mount Eden Bowling Greets. The erection of - this hoarding has made the junction of Valley and Mount Eden Roads an absolute death-trap, many times more dangerous than anything in the district. Accidents are not uncommon at this junction, but, fortunately, so far, none has been serious. If the Mount Eden Council is really concerned about hoardings and their relation to publiis safety, I suggest it should show its sincerity by immediately requesting lite Mount Eden Bowling Club to remove the unsightly hoarding before it is the cause of a fatal accident. I am sure that all drivers will agree that this junction is the most dangerous in the district and should be the'first to be made safe-in the interest of human life. Safety First.
