In the Police Court to-day Herbert f Gothorpe, farmer of Rototuna, appeared before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., on charges of using, indecent . language, threatening behaviour and failure to make .way ,• for. a .neighbour met on the Puketaha Road.* , -It Was,; stated in evidence that accused met Alfred; James Proctor, of ■ Puketaha on the main road on August 9. Both' were, driving carts and owing, to Gothorpe failing to give right of way, Proc-, tor's vehicle was forced on to. the side of the road and the , two vehicles col-, lided. . It .was sated that Gothorpe .aimed a missile at Proctor, and using foul language said '' I'll kill you : there's no law, can stop a man shooting vermin like yOU.", > Constable Ned, who went to interview the accused later, said-he met with a truculent and abusive reception. .. '' This manis a ,bully,, I believe,'-'. said the magistrate .in giving his decision, *' and i'roctor; has put up with abuse from him in the past in the absence of witnesses." ....... On the other two - charge accused was ordered to pay costs totalling £3 12s. In. addition .Gothorpe was ordered to enter into a bond of £IOO within seven days to keep the peace for 12 months.
