VISITING TEAM'S - EXPENSES.
j JUNIOR GRADE WINNERS. The Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Football Union met last evening, Mr. H. Frost presiding. It was decided to contribute £4O toward the expenses of the North Auckland team's visit to Auckland, on the understanding that the North 'Auckland Union pays the expenses of the Auckland team's return visit next year, definite arrangements for tours thereafter to bo made before the tours arc commenced. The Junior Management Board reported that. Ponsonb3- had won the fourth grade competition. Marist the fifth grade and Manukau the sixth grade. St. George's Club asked for a donation toward the expenses of sending a team to Te Awamutu on Saturday, but it was decided to refer the club to the Te Awamutu Union, the Auckland Union being unable to assist. A similar reply will be forwarded to the Grafton Club, who- sought assistance toward sending ono of its teams to Hamilton on September 4. Tho Auckland Trades Hall asked that, on Labour Day, October 25, no football attractions be fixed in order to keep the day clear for the Labour Day sports at the Domain. It was decided to reply that no charge matches would be held, but no guarantee could be given regarding the holding of friendly games.
