TUBERCULOSIS SERUM.

SPAHLINGER'S TREATMENT. A FAVOURABLE OPINION.. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. Aug. 13. A report has been submitted to the New South Wales Government .by Dr. Mclntyre Sinclair who visited Geneva last year and made a close inquiry into and an examination of Professor Spahlinger's treatment for tuberculosis. This states: " As a result of my own personal investigation and examination of cases which had been treated with Professor Spahlinger's serum I am of the opinion that lie has discovered a remedy of considerable value, and that every reasonable endeavour should bo made to obtain his serum for use in certain types of tubercular disease. " Professor Spahlinger's vaccine is, without doubt, a valuable remedy, but, in my opinion, it does not teach us anything we did not know before. In the production of anti-toxic serum Professor Spalllinger has succeeded where others have failed. " It is true that the serum has had its proportion of failures and that its administration in many cases is not unattended ljy discomfort and even by occasional danger. But, taken all over, it appears to have achieved many remarkable successes in cases of tuberculosis even where every other known method of treatment has failed.

"In my opinion the serum makes a distinct step forward in the treatment of this disease."
