RELIGIONS IN THE CENSUS.

SECTS OF FEW MEMBERS. The religions recorded in the recent census are many and varied, although some thousands object to stating their religion of all, as they are quite entitled to do. The general practice in dealing with this class of return is to make returns under the heading of all the commoner and generally recognised" branches of religious beliefj both • Christian and non-Christian. In subsequent detailed returns are found room for all the-unusual religions, some' of which appear to be confined to one family. Some describe themselves as " Holy Rollers " or " Holy Jumpers," or even as " Signs of the Zodiac." These will come under the heading of " other religions," as distinct from the betterknown ones.
