MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Kuranui.—Tho crosscut at thu lower level to cut Ross reef has been extended 18ft., a total of 165 ft. We are in past whero tho reef should havo been cut, but by tho class of country it should be cloao at hand. The country rock at present is of a blue nature, and iair)y firm, being interlaced with quartz stringers and mineral veins. . Alburnia.—The footwatl portion of tho ISorwegian level has been advanced a fur■iii. t ir, leader shows an' average width of Isin., and there havo been a few odd colours of gold seen in the stone broken. The country rock is lighter in colour than that previously passed through, with mineral seams intermixed. Tho Orlando level has been advanced a further Isft., leaving a. distance of 35ft. to meet the collar of the rise. The wo havo passed through has boon tho worst we have, met with. It has been* stoped both overhead and underfoot, and the wall is of a rotten nature. Rising Sun.—Stoping operations have been carried on in tho various blocks with no change to report. At the top of the rise in No. 3 reef timbering has-- been fiftished for the present, and a start has been made to open out the reef going south to prepare a site for a rise to No. 2 level. Work at No 2 level et tho top of the rise on No. I reef will be suspended for the present until the stopes below are filled with spoil from No. 2 level. From July 22 to July 28 50 tons of ore wore crushed. A cyanide clean-up was made and yielded llloss, bullion. Kuranui.—The following telegram was received from the mine mnnuger yesterday:—Cut leader Bin. wide in the crosscut ut. the Ipwer level. It is carrying nice, bright mineral.
