MEN AT ASCOT.

London clothes, the morning coat and silk hat, will never become obsolete bo long as "Morning clothes obligatory" appears on the vouchers for the Royal Enclosure at 'Ascot, says an English exchange. Nowhere elso in the world gathers such a parade of well-dressed men. Many men, from the King downwards, wore lighter-coloured clothes, with tlio result that grey frock suits and the greyest of grey tall hats filled the Royal stand. Tho King'u hat was of a beige iihade, worn with a grey frock-coat suit and a lighter grey single-breasted waistcoat, a white double collar and grey tie. Prince Henry, Prince George of Russia and Sir Victor Warrender led the younger set, who of late have taken to the grey tall hat. The Prntce of Wales woro a black hat, black morning coat and waistcoat and grey trousers. Th black unbraided morning coat, made with a wide lapel and one buttoi.l at the waistline, worn with black cashmere trousers, carrying whito chalk or pin stripes, outnumbered tho grey suits and two-button morning coats with sponge-bag trousers. There was a fair share of tho last, but nothing like tho popularity of tho black-and-white strips is remembered at Ascot. The frock coat was much worn by older men, while the Marquess of Londonderry leminded one of a print of olden days by wearing a dark grey cashmere morning coat suit, the fronts faced with black, silk, a light grey waistcoat, a high collar and a black satin stock knotted bow fashion, with a black hat and a red carnation in his buttonholo. Ho 'and Lord Lonsdale in a perfectfitting frock coat and the proverbial whito tie, on a white shirt carrying horizontal pink stripes, brought back memories of tho clothes of Edwardian Ascots.
