BRIGHT ENTERTAINMENT.

ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME. " . • St. Mark's Parish Concert, under ths direction of Mis. C. R. Keeblc, was held last evening in St. Mary's Hall, Parneli, and proved a distinct success. The entertainment, which was versatile, bright and amusing, was much enjoyed and appreciated by a large audience. The opening number, "A Bream Fantasy," by Gilbert Cannon, was a delightful little sketch, in which humour and pathos were intermingled in the story of a young girl who endeavoured to live out her dream of love notwithstanding the practical advice of her elders. The cast was a strong one, the characters being well represented by Miss F. The music was arranged and played by Mrs. A. Laird Cooke. A pleasing number was a quartette, "In a Persian Garden" (Liza Lehmann), in which the parts were taken by Miss Hoskin (soprano), Mr. Hutton (tenor), Mrs. Sawers (contralto), and Mr. Sawers (bass). Mrs. H. Hugh Corbin, who has a rich, full voice, sang with much artistry, "Sapphic Ode" (Brahms), and "A Pearl for every Tear" (Liddle). Mr. Cliff Crowther, in his inimitable style, sang "And Mother Came Too," giving as an encore a humorous recitation that brought forth rounds of applause. Miss Winifred Averill, who has a sweet voice, sang charmingly, "Wind on the Wheat." "Ah, Moon of My Delight," was nn enjoyable number given by Mr. James Hutton. Miss Lynda Murray and Miss Knth Scott, whose voices are entirely pleasing, gave enjoyable selections. Mr. Wilfred Manning also contributed to the enjoyment of the evening with his sorigs.
