Sit, —Your correspondent " Civis" makes out a strong cast* for oatmeal. I notice that both in the ease of the mil," ' tarv.experiment and the Perthshire workers the oatmeal used was the coarse meal containing the whole oat. This is verv different from the porridge one sees nowadays, which seems very insipid stuff It is quite evident that one could not do a hard day's work on this refined meal. Service.
