FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA.
ALAN COBHAM IN INDIA. TERRIFIC MONSOON WEATHER MANY DANGEROUS INCIDENTS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received 11.55 p.m.) A. and N.Z.-Reuter. RANGOON. July 27. Mr. Alan J. Cobham, who is flying to Australia, left Rangoon this morning for Victoria Point. He will stop there tonight and continue his flight to Penang
to-morrow morning. In an interview llr. Cobham said he had a wonderful trip so far. He recounted many dangerous incidents. The monsoon weather had been terrific, but his machine and engine were marvels of British workmanship.
The airman said lie was convinced that the maintenance of a regular London to Rangoon air service was practicable. The only real difficulty would be the cyclones, but ample warning of these could be made available so that they could be avoided. Mr. Cobham said he was not flying too fast as he was surveying the route and wanted to reserve his energy for the return flight.
