HOSPITAL SISTER TUTOR.
j Sir, —I have read with interest the correspondence on the above subject, and I for the benefit of the writer of letter signed " Fair Play " I would like her to know my experience of a sister tutor such as I remember during my training in a London hospital The sister I have in | mind was not only a nurse of exceptional ability but was able to impart her knowledge to her pupils. She had an M.A. degree, was a linguist, could converse with patients of all nationalities, her personality was such as to bring out. the best, in her pupils, she made no favourites, she was loved by both pupils and patients. If such a one could be brought to New Zealand surely the board is to be congratulated on having made the appointment. The question of salary for such services could not be reckoned. I would like to see a sister tutor brought out from Queen Charlotte's Hospital, London, for midwifery pupils and for instruction in infant welfare. The sooner knowledge is welcomed the better for all concerned. English Nurse.
