BREACH OF PROBATION.
MAN WHO POSED AS DOCTOR. THREE MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT. Described as a person who had once posed as a docW and as a police officer, Frederick W 7 alter McLennan, aged 23, pleaded guilty in the Police Court yesterday to failing to comply with the terms of his release on probation. The probation officer said accused was placed on probation for three years in September, 1922, on a charge of false pretances. The term was extended last Aprii for posing us a police officer, and .accused was now serving sentence for vagrancy. Senior-Detectiv-? Hammond: Yes, this young man actually practised as a doctor at Te Kauwhat.t. The probation officer said accused was a case for a half-way house. In these cases he acted like a madman and lost all idea of proportion. A term of three months' imprisonment, to be cumulative with the sentence already being served, was imposed.
