PRESBYTERIANS IN LONDON
THE REGENT SQUARE CHUROH
NEW ZEALAND-TRAINED PASTOR.
[from our own correspondent.] LONDON, June 17.
"The coming of a new minister to Regent Square Presbyterian Church, London," says the Christian World, "is no small matter, and the whole Presbyterian Church is interested in the choice which the congregation has made. By the time the settlement takes place on-June 17 the pulpit will have been vacant for exactly one year, but owing to the care and attention which the moderator, Rev. C. Anderson Scott, D.D., and Rev. Donald Ross have given the congregation has not suffered greatly.
The Regent Square tradition is not cne to be disregarded. First, the minister must bo a sound and attractive preacher ■ second, he must be prepared to tackle a very hard piece of work; and, third, he must, be interested in work 'among the young. In choosing Mr. G. T. Bellhouse, M.A., 8.D., a student trained in New" Zealand, the congregation has, in the opinion of competent observers, chosen wisely and well. He is already a preacher of note, he is a hard worker, and his interest in young people is unbounded. The future of Regent Square will be safe in his hands .
