THE WANGANUI DISTRICT. LARGE NUMBER OF ANIMALS; Opossum trapping is now in full swing in the Wafiganui district. Forty trap.pers' licenses have been issued by the Wanganui Acclimatisation Society, while a similar number of property owners have taken out licenses which permit trapping on their own land. Reports to hand indicate that opossums are numerous, and already a considerable number of skins has been sent to the market, • One trapper, who operates in the Mangamahu district, has sent in over 200 skins.
