In the semi-finals of the doubles at the Brookline (Boston) tennis tournament Lewis White and Louis Thalheimer, of Texas, who hold the national clay court doubles championship, defeated their fellow Texans, John Barr and Wilmer Allison, 6—3, 9—7, 6—4., Tilden and Weiner defeated Alfred Chapin and Berkeley Bell, B—6, I—6, 6—r3, B—6. In the final White and Thalheimer defeated Tilden and Weiner, 7—5, 6—o, 6—2. In the singles contest for the Longwood Bowl ' White defeated Harada (Japan),^B—6, 7—5, 6—l, and Tilden defeated White, 6—3, 6—4, 6—-3. In the final of the women's singles Miss Elizabeth Ryan defeated Miss Martha' Bayard (New Jersey), 6—o, 3—6, 6—3.

(Reed. 6.5 p.m.) LONDON, July 25, Roy Charman, a competitor in the 200miles tourist trophy race for motors at Brookiands, averaged a speed of 72 miles an hour. His fastest lap was done at a rate of nearly 100 miles an hour. He finished fourth in the unlimited class race.
