MOTORS IN COLLISION.
PONSONBY ROAD ACCIDENT.
ONE OCCUPANT INJURED.*
BOTH CARS BADLY DAMAGED. A collision between two motor-cars in Ponsonby Read at 3.30 yesterday afternoon resulted in the admission to hospital of Miss Queenie Ford, of Rockfield Road, Ellerslie, suffering from shock and injuries to the face and head. Miss Ford was a passenger in a car which was being driven along Ponsonby Road toward Newton by Mr. Herbert Little, of Cornwall Park Avenue, Epsom. At the junction of Franklin Road a collision occurred with a car driven by Mr. YV. Batty, of 5, Fernleigh Street, "Ponsonby, which was turning into Franklin Road from the direction of Newton. The drivers of bath machines escaped < with minor abrasions but Miss Ford was thrown against the windscreen, receiving cuts about the face from the broken glass and receiving other injuries to her head. Miss Ford was removed to the hospital immediately and was operated on last evening. Her condition last night was reported to be serious but not dangerous. Both cars were badiy damaged. The condition of Mr. S. W. Foote, who was injured in a motor collision at Papatoetoe on Tuesday last, is reported to be greatly improved and he is expected to be discharged from the hospital to-morrow. Fireman Douglas Catley, who was injured through the overturning of the Remuera Fire Brigade engine on Friday, shows slight improvement.
