THE AUCKLAND CLUB. CHAMPIONSHIPS COMMENCED. TWO QUALIFYING ROUNDS. The two qualifying pounds of the senior and junior championships of the Auckland Golf Club were played at the Middlemore links on Saturday. Ninety-two competitors took part, and the course was taxed to its utmost capacity. Conditions were almost ideal, but a westerly wind, which is aomewhat rare at Middlemore, puzzled a number of the players. SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. THE MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB. WIN FOR COMMERCIAL TEAM. A four-ball handicap match was played at the Titirangi links on Saturday between the commercial and professional members of the Maungakiekie Golf club. Over 70 members took part in the game which resulted in a win for the commercial players by 12 matches to 6, oiie being halved. At the conclusion of the match a dinner was held at the club house during which the toasts of both teams -were honoured. Musical itemß were supplied by various members. The tie for the Kingswell Shield between J. M. Ellifie and P. Harrison was played off at the Maungakiekie links during the week and resulted in a win for the former. The first of the two qualifying rounds of the senior and junior championships will be played next Saturday. In conjunction, a 36-hole medal handicap will also bo played. Entries will close on Wednesday.

MAUNGAKIEKIE LADIES' CLUB. CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT. Following is the draw for the Maungakiekie Ladies' Golf Club's senior and junior championships to be played at the One Tree Hill links to-morrow, commencing at 9.30 a.m. in order of the draw at four-minute intervals:—Mrs. Dufaur v. The programme of events in connection with the tournament to be held by the Maungakiekie Ladies' Golf Club at the Titirangi links on August 3. 4 and 5, is as follows: — August 3.-9 a.m.: Qualifying round of senior and junior chamßinnships, combined with medal handicap match. 1 p.m.: First round of championships. August 4. —9 a.m. : Second round of championships, combined with bogey * handicap match, 1 p.m.; Semi-finals of the championships; driving, and approaching and putting competitions. Aufust 5. —9 a.m.: Four-ball-best-ball bogey handicap (choose partners and opponents). 1 p.m.: Finals of championships. Entries will close on Friday. There will be continuous putting, and prizes will also be presented for the three best putting cards returned during the tournament.

GLEXDOWIE CLUB. Following are tlie results of the second round of the senior and junior championships of the Glendowie golf links:— Senior Championship.—F. True beat A. Buthie, 4 and 3; L. Goodwin beat P. Ching. 2 up; J. Hamilton beat R. Kissling, 2 and 1; C. Allcott beat L. O. Eilly, 4 and 2. Junior Championship.—C. Biernacki beat O. Wolfgram, 6 and 5; E. Bradley beat R. Garrard, 1 up at the 19th; Dr. Horton beat E. Hutchison, 3 and 2. In the semi-final of the captain's prize, J. Hamilton beat T. Russell, 3 and 2, and R. Edmonds beat L. Goodwin, 4 and 3. In the final R. Edmonds, a much-improved player, proved too good for J. Hamilton and won with a score of 6 and 4.
