SIR EDGEWORTH DAVID.
A TRIBUTE FROM WALES. HONORARY DEGREE CONFERRED. A. and N.Z. LONDON. July 20. The authorities of the University of Wales have conferred an honorary degree upon Sir Edgeworth David, in recognition of his being ono of the most eminent of living scientists. Sir Tannatt William Edgeworth David has been, since 1891, professor of: geology at the University of Sydney. From 1832 until he accepted the chan* at the University of Sydney ho was Government geological surveyor o New South Wales. He accompanied t e I first Shackleton expedition to the Antarctic in 1908.
