DAVIS CUP CONTEST.
CUBA DEFEATS CANADA. PLAY IN FINAL SINGLES. (Received 5.5 p.m.) Reuter. HAVA.NA, July 20. In the final singles of the Davis Cup tie, Cuba v. Canada, Paris (Cuba) defeated Crocker (Canada), 6—4, 6—2, 6—4. The Cubans thus eliminated their rivals who had been greatly affected by the tropical weather. To-day's play started with the score in the first set standing 4 —5 in favour of Paris. Crocker was never able to overcome this lead. He fell in the critical game in the second set. Paris won many games in the contest to love.
